SOS #199: Oppostite Day

It's Tuesday , and time for a new challenge. This week's theme is Opposite Day, and we'd like you to make something that's opposite your usual style. I know, I know, some of us don't have a defined style, but we do tend to certain habits, and if yours is more CAS, think about adding some fluff or layers. If you're more of a more-is-more person, try cutting back to more white space. It's a challenge, right? :)

Here's how the ladies have interpreted this week's challenge:

Lauren
as you may know, i'm not usually CAS... so i had to give it a shot! :)
Jessi
I occasionally dabble in CAS, but this is a very very clean-and-graphic card for me (and yes, I feel itchy!)
My least favourite type of card to do is Distressing so with clenched teeth I took my scissors to all the layers and ripped the vellum for the sentiment.

Alica
I'm not into super CAS, so I resisted the urge to add some sequins, buttons or ribbons and just added some washi tape, which I last used...hmmm, maybe 3 years ago.... :)

Leslie
I've been tending towards CAS lately, so I broke out some mixed media stuff to make a background. And layers - I added layers.
Donna
I never ever use different design papers on the same card and I never draw my own borders.
Deena
I distressed my papers and used rub-ons and stickers instead of stamps for a grungier look - I usually like clean borders on my cards and almost always use stamps

Now it's YOUR turn! Go into your stash and make something that's different than your normal style. Please make sure to tell us what it is, as it may not be obvious to us!  Then link us up below so we can stop by and see what you've made.

The link-up will be open until Monday, May 4th (MAY?!?!) at 11:55 PM EDT. Please limit your total number of challenges to 13, including ours.

It's Tuesday, and time for a new challenge. This week's theme is Lost & Found, and we'd like you to use something you've recently re-discovered in your craft room. Maybe it was lost ... maybe you'd just forgotten you owned it. I love re-discovering found things in my craft room!

CHANA

Lauren
i've been looking for my little tin of garage-sale-acquired pins-- of which the cool blue heart is one-- ever since we moved; i was beginning to think i accidentally donated it!
Alica
I totally forgot I had this stamp set, almost bought it again :)
Jessi
I found this sweet fairy clip in a bunch of stickers while looking for something else
I found an unopened pack of pipe cleaners and re-discovered my Epiphany Crafts tool when looking for something else.

My lost and found item is my long neglected paper crimper.

My found item was this cute stamp set
Deena
my lost items are stickles and the charm...4 kinds of stickles unopened and at least 3 years old and a charm from eons ago

SOS #196: The Earth Has Music

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge. This week's theme is The Earth Has Music, and you are free to interpret that any way you'd like. You could focus on the Earth, or Music, or any number of possible combinations. Please be sure to mention in your blog post how you interpreted the theme, since it's not always obvious to us!

This week's challenge is a little special, because we're collaborating with Words 2 Scrap By. When you enter a card here, you can also link up to their challenge post. It's a two-fer!!!

The title of this week's challenge celebrates the first full month of spring and the words come from renowned author and philosopher George Santayana:

The earth has music for those who listen.

Please make sure to stop by the W2SB post and read up on their rules. The only rules here are to follow the challenge prompt!

Here are some cards from the Words 2 Scrap By gals:

Bobbi

Annie
Penny

Sybrina
and here's how our gals have interpreted the challenge:

2015 is the 30th Anniversary of the Song "We Are The World."

Jessi

Alica

Lauren
Deena
sunshine and song lyrics

Make sure to pop over the the W2SB blog to see the rest of our cards!

As a bonus, this week we'll still pick the Top Three, but there will be one winner who will get one of my duplicate stencils as a prize. It must be a good stencil as I've bought it more than once, right? :)

Now it's your turn! Go into your stash and find some earth or music or nature inspiration, make something, then come back and link us up below so we can see what you've made.

The Linky will be open until Monday, April 13th, at 11:55 pm EDT. Please remember to limit your total number of challenges to 13, including ours.
