SOS #132: Use The Last of Something

Happy Tuesday, and Happy LAST DAY OF 2013!!!! Yes, we are bold enough to have a challenge on the last day of the year. :)  In honor of the year-end thing, this week we ask you to use the last of something. Got a lonely flower in a pack? Maybe one piece of paper in a 6x6 pad? Three inches of ribbon on a spool? We challenge you to USE IT!

Here's what our DT gals have made to inspire you. Please note that some of our new gals are so anxious to get started, they've played this week instead of waiting for next week. :)

Chana
2014 Calendar created using the last of my Graphic 45 "Secret Garden" Papers

Leslie
I used the last of some metal photo anchors.

Jessi
I used the last doily I have - this half-piece - the last cameo, and the last smidge of a pearl border that was floating loose in a drawer.

I used the last of my black textured cardstock, gold glitter scallop border, clear button and cut from my last strip of gold bling
Deena
I used up the last of a card kit and my one button and last piece of chipboard from the package.
Michelle
(check out her blog for details)
The little ladybug on the bow is the last one I salvaged that was decoration on a plant someone sent me.

Lauren
using my last vintage slide mount!
Now it's YOUR turn! Go into your stash and rummage for and almost-empty package of something. Then USE it and come back to link us up below so we can see what you've made!

Mr Linky will be open until 11:55 pm on Monday, Jan 6th. To be eligible for the Saturday Shout-out, please remember to link to no more than 13 challenges, including ours.

Happy Tuesday! Just a reminder that we're in Week 2 of our One Color challenge. You'll have until Monday, Dec. 30th, to link up.

Here's another card I made for the challenge, if only to use up the green version of the background I made for last week:

And another one from Jessi:

Jessi
Looks like we are in a green mode this week. :)

I'd also like thank everyone who applied for our Mini DT Call. Please give a warm welcome to our new members Donna, Chris and Barb! They're getting their feet wet now, and will join us officially with the first challenge of 2014.

Enjoy your holiday (for those who celebrate), and we'll see you back here next week for the last challenge of 2013!

SOS #131: One Color

It's Tuesday, and time for a new challenge! This week we ask you to use one main color on your creation. It can be ombre (gradient colors), tone-on-tone, or a mix of all one-color scraps. Neutrals are allowed.

This is a TWO-WEEK CHALLENGE, because next week is Christmas, and we know how busy some people can be this time of year.  You'll have until Dec. 30th to play!

One reminder: Our Mini DT Call closes tomorrow (Wed, Dec. 18th), so if you're interested, there's still time to apply. Details can be found here.

Okay, here's what our DT gals have made to help inspire you:

Deena

Now it's your turn! Pick a color, go into your stash and dig up a bunch of goodies, make something, then come back and link us up below so we can see what you've made!

Mr Linky will be open until Monday, Dec 30th, at 11:55 pm ET. If you'd like to be eligible for our Saturday Shout-Out, please limit your number of challenges to 13, including ours.

SOS #130: Tic-Tac-Toe

It's Tuesday, which means it's time for a new challenge. But before we get to that, I wanted to remind you about our Mini DT call. We're accepting applications through the 18th, so if you're interested, please see last week's post for how to apply!

Now back to this week's challenge ... This week we bring you Tic-Tac-Toe:

Thanks to the lovely and talented Lauren for making our graphic! xo

Please select a row (e.g.: brads, ribbon, tags), column (e.g.: tags, stickers, buttons) or a diagonal (e.g.: brads, bling, buttons) and use all three items on your project. There should be something here for everyone!

Here's what the DT gals have done to help inspire you:

Jessi (overachieved did a bunch of different combinations)

Deena  (die cut, wood and buttons)
Leslie (brads, bling and buttons)

Chana (Die Cuts, Bling, Tags)

Alica (Ribbon, Bling, Wood)

Lauren (brads, flowers, and punches or diecuts... times two!)

Now it's YOUR turn. Go into your stash, pull out some stuff, and pick a three-some to use. OR pick a threesome, then go into your stash and find stuff. EITHER WAY, make a project, then come back and link us up below so we can see what you've made!

Mr Linky will be open until Monday, Dec 16th, at 11:55 pm. To be considered for our Saturday Shout-out, please remember to limit your number of challenges to 13, including ours.

Challenge Reminder and Mini DT Call!

Just a reminder that we are in the midst of a two-week Holiday/Winter challenge. We wanted to give our USofA players time to spend with their families for Thanksgiving, so you'll have until Dec 9th to play. Our sweet DT gal Jessi has over-achieved and made a few more cards to inspire you:

Jessi

Last week's challenge post is here, in case you haven't played, or maybe want to play again. :)

THIS post is about a DT call. Yep, we've had some turnover here in the SOS family and we're looking for 3 (or so) new people to join our design team. If you've always wanted to be on a DT, but didn't want to be limited to one stamp company, this is the place for you! :) We have no loyalties short of using up our stashes!

Here's what we'll expect of you:

1. Submit one project per week (due by the Sunday evening preceding the Tuesday challenge).
2. Post your project on your own blog on the day the challenge appears on the SOS blog.
3. Comment on a portion of challenge entries each week.
4. Be a team player! We do a lot of chattering behind the scenes, and it's fun when we all participate and help each other.
5. Have a basic knowledge of Blogger/blogging language, protocol, and how-to. This would be helpful, but is not required. We use Blogger for our DT blog, so you'll need to be able to add and edit posts for your projects. We're happy to help if you have questions!

You do not have to be a card-maker to apply. Scrapbookers, mini-album makers, alternate crafts, etc., are welcome. We are all about using our stash!

So how do you apply? Here you go:

Send an email to shoppingourstash1@gmail.com, with DESIGN TEAM APPLICATION in the subject line, and include the following:

-- Either 3-5 photos of your crafting projects that you feel best describe your style, or links to photos in flickr/blog posts in which the photos appear.
-- Your blog URL (if it's not already included above).
-- A little bit about you: your crafting history, your style, how you started, any DT history (if you have one),  etc., so we can learn a bit about you with your application.
-- Tell us why you think you'd be a good fit for our team and why you'd like to join.
-- Any other information you think is pertinent!

All emails must be received by midnight EST on Wed, Dec 18th, to be considered for the DT. I'll announce the new DT members before the end of the year, and you'll join us with our first challenge in January.

That's IT!

If you still have questions, please email me at shoppingourstash1@gmail.com with DT QUESTION in the subject line so I'll know to respond ASAP.

Thanks!
Leslie
